Tidal Bore Facts

• Height: 4 m at the center of the river and 7 m on both sides
• Speed: up to 25 km/h
• The construction of the Rouen Channel in 1963 caused the disappearance of the tidal bore
• It is said that Léopoldine, Victor Hugo's daughter, and her husband died when their boat was caught in the passage of the tidal bore
