Committees

The Petitcodiac Riverkeeper also has committees and working groups. In all cases we encourage public participation through membership in the Riverkeeper Society.

Petitcodiac Riverkeeper Committees for 2006

Board of Directors
Responsible for the governance of the organization.
Meets every two months, weekly email exchanges and updates.
Three vacant seats (Greater Moncton region – 2, Petitcodiac/Salisbury/Elgin region – 1). Women needed!

Governance Committee (and Board Nomination)
Responsible for the development of governance policies for the organization, the recruitment of Board candidates and mentoring new Board Directors.
Meets at least every two months.
For anyone interested in the development of the organization, in strategic planning and the development of policies promoting the good management of administrative, financial and human resources.

Finance Committee – NEW
Responsible for the organization’s financial planning.
Meets at least every two months.
For anyone interested in the development of the organization, in financial planning, fundraising and the organization of benefit events.

Petitcodiac River Restoration Committee – NEW
Responsible for the development of a fish habitat protection plan and a strategy to manage the invasive fish species problems facing the Petitcodiac River.
Meets at least every two months.
For anyone interested in the protection of fish habitat in the Petitcodiac River ecosystem.

Renaissance Petitcodiac Committee – NEW
Responsible for the development of a socio-economic revival strategy associated with the restoration of the Petitcodiac River and its Tidal Bore.
Meets at least every two months.
