Atlantic Tomcod (Microgadus tomcod)

 Habitat -Marine specie that regularly enters brackish freshwaters during spawning migrations
-Never strays from shore
 Reproduction -Spawning takes place in early winter or midwinter
-A female can deposit 6,000-30,000 eggs, depending on her size
-At about 2-4°C eggs are hatched in 52 days
 Growth -On hatching, the young drift downstream and will attain lenghts of about 60-90 mm after the first summer
-Life expectancy is no more than 4 years
